Steve Bolze

Stephen R. Bolze is a Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Infrastructure Operations and Asset Management.

Prior to joining Blackstone in 2017, Mr. Bolze served as a Senior Vice President at the General Electric Company and the President& Chief Executive Officer of GE Power & Water, the company’s largest business unit with $27 billion in revenues and 52,000 employees. During his tenure, GE Power & Water launched the world’s most efficient HA gas turbine, led the acquisition and integration of Alstom Power (the largest industrial acquisition in GE history), and grew the GE Renewables business to a separate standalone division. During his 24 year career at GE, Mr. Bolze also ran multiple other business units including GE Power Generation, GE Healthcare International, GE Medical Functional Imaging, GE Energy Management Services as well as led the Amersham integration and the Corporate Services Council for several years. Earlier in his career at GE, he held a wide range of product management and operating roles. He started his career at GE in Corporate M&A and business development. Prior to GE, Mr. Bolze served as a management consultant for Corporate Decisions, Inc. and as a program manager at Westinghouse.

Mr. Bolze graduated magna cum laude with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Duke University. He earned a MBA from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business. Mr. Bolze serves on the Duke Pratt School of Board of Visitors. He is active in many energy-related organizations including the World Energy Council and the World Economic Forum where he has served as the Chair of the Electricity Technology Cluster.
