Last fall, the firm launched the Blackstone Working Parents Network, a wellbeing initiative being piloted at Blackstone’s London office. The goal of this program is to support Blackstone parents as they balance their family lives with fulfilling careers.
The Network’s initiatives include internal opportunities to give working parents a confidential forum to discuss and learn from each other’s experiences as parents at the firm, a Working Mothers Lunch Club three times a year, working mothers opportunities to meet one another and broaden their professional network, speaker series, as well as seminars held in coordination with CityMothers & CityFathers and hosted by Blackstone. The Network also offers online resources internally as a one-stop-shop for employees to review Blackstone’s family-friendly benefits and parental leave policies.
“The WPN network is a great resource. I personally had not attended a first aid course since my first child was born five years ago. I was amazed to find so many parents and colleagues in the same situation. These are critical skills, and it was so helpful to have the course here in the office,” said Kristen Eshak, who participated in a first aid course, shown above, recently offered by the Blackstone Working Parents Network for working parents and employees with regular childcare responsibilities.
